Our Mission… Coachella Valley Green (CVG) is designed to connect you to everything that is related to “green” and sustainable in the Coachella Valley and beyond. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to find “green” information, services, technology and products so that you, like us, can begin to use it. We will also keep you updated as to how the CV Cities are contributing and keep you posted as to any programs or tax incentives that you can take advantage of and use. Who Are We? The creators of Coachella Valley Green are Thom & Kathy Gottberg.
Kathy & Thom have been happily married for over 30-years and have lived in the Coachella Valley full time since 1990. Kathy’s family originally moved to the Coachella Valley in 1963 when she was eight years old. Thom grew up in Long Beach, California and spent four years in the US Marine Corps prior to meeting Kathy.
Kathy & Thom met and married in Colorado and together they owned and managed several small businesses before following their passion for real estate investments and brokerage. Both Kathy and Thom obtained a real estate brokerage license in Colorado and California. However, during the last 18 years Kathy has continued writing and has authored dozens of published articles about a variety of topics. She has also been the writer/publisher of a newsletter business for the escrow/real estate field in the state of California since 1989. In 1995 Kathy's first book was published, and then was followed with her second published book in 2008.
Thom has established himself as one of the Coachella Valley’s leading commercial real estate brokers. Thom is currently expanding his knowledge base to include the new “green” revolution and is currently working at converting a 14,000 square foot office/warehouse building into a multi-tenant property to house numerous green businesses and an educational/job training center named "The GreenZone". The building will be retrofitted using a variety of energy efficient enhancements as the budget allows. Stay tuned for all the green features & details to be used. Beyond that, Thom is assisting a number of his clients on adding solar to their commercial buildings and making other changes that will increase these investors triple bottom line.
While Thom and Kathy don't consider themselves tree-huggers or extreme environmentalists, they do believe that the time has come for everyone to begin to make changes and improvements in their lives in order to create a world that works for everyone. However, like most of us, they realize that each of us can use as much support and resources as available in order to create effective change. On top of that, doing it with friends and community is not only rewarding, it's lots more fun! Join Thom and Kathy and CVG as they strive to make themselves and the entire Coachella Valley Green.
