You're Invited to The GreenZone Open House/Grand Opening!
The GreenZone
is holding a Grand Opening Open House on Thursday, January 14th from
11:00 am –4:00 pm. This open-to-the-public event
will include green building renovation tours and a Green Expo showcasing a variety
of environmentally friendly products and services. Scheduled for 12:00 noon is the formal Ribbon Cutting to be followed by “GreenTalk”,
a segment that will provide information focused on the latest in sustainable building
innovations, energy efficient products and best green practices from a variety of speakers. Additionally, practical information will
be supplied for those interested in learning more about the real prospects for
employment in industries like solar, wind, energy efficiencies and more.
Participating in the Grand Opening festivities are confirmed
elected officials Congresswoman Mary Bono-Mack (barring any voting conflicts), Assemblyman
Brian Nestande, and County Supervisor John J. Benoit, along with other
notable guests include Buford Crites and property owner Bernard White.
The Green Expo will be attended by numerous green-thinking
businesses including Burrtec Waste and Recycling, SunLine Transit Agency, Coachella Valley Water District, Renova Energy & Solar, Sola-Lite,
GE (General Electric), Light-Source, Coachella Valley Green.com, Penta Building
Group,. Riverside
County Economic Development Workforce Center, UCR, LazerInk, Coachella Valley
HomeGrown Direct, GreenGuys Construction, The Green Bay Group, Plant It Earth
Landscape, Earth Organics, The S.C.R.A.P. Gallery and other high-profile
environmentally related organizations and companies. A
hydrogen fuel cell bus owned and operated by SunLine will also be available to
tour.
The GreenZone is the first multi-tenant commercial property
in the Coachella Valley to be renovated and leased exclusively to businesses
focused on sustainability and the new green economy. The facility is located at Mediterranean
Avenue just off of Cook Street and Hovley Lane at Beacon Hill in Palm
Desert.The GreenZone offers individual
and collaborative warehouse and/or office space to small to medium size
